- bismillah -
Alhamdulillah for such a breeze night shift last wednesday. I was scheduled to work in red zone, but if there got no patients then i'll have to help in other zones as well.
So i stayed in asthma. Then came a drug addict, asking for gas (nebuliser). At first i wanted to rule out hypoxic as the cause of his restlessness and altered mental state (E3V5M6), then the moment i auscultated the lungs and they were clear, and the pt spoke in super long sentences, then immediately i knew something is very suspicious. I gave him saline neb, asked my ma (who was very helpful) to call my superior, and also to call the guard when the patient started to speak louder. He was not very agressive with his eyes closed most of the time, but just in case things happened then i'll have the guard ready.
My boss managed to calm him down and gave him iv drip (of course my boss did the branula himself, i wont). The moment that bandit got bed, he went asleep like a dead body. Cess dia nak tumpang tido spital ja.
And of course we did the urine for drug test for him and the related drug tested positive (i still respect him as my patient, not to expose his result online) hurm. #professionalism
Anyway, while waiting for patients at asthma bay, i wanted to add on my slides for cme presentation the next day. But, my pendrive was infected by stupid virus from the pc there. All my slides were completely gone. Like, nil. So what do i have to present the next morning? I wondered whether i should tell my boss that i had lost the slide and just cancelled the cme... Nayy i cant do that. I decided to fix the problem.
It was 3 am in the morning, after asking for help from everyone around, i deciced to just make a new slide. No one can help me to retrieve the data from my pendrive, they tried and do the things they knew, but it just wont work.
I kept calm and tried not to worry much. Although i have to make new slides, i have to attend my red zone patients first in between. I have to fulfill what i'm assigned to do (which is to work on night shift), so i just left my slides pending in between attending the patients.
I knew it was night time, and i knew Allah is with me, and i knew the doa made at that hour will be granted. I knew Allah has a better plan for me.
I knew He put me in such situation, and i knew He has the way out.
So there got a makcik came with severe ards secondary to severe cap, intubated. So RSI was done. And my cme presentation for the next day will also be RSI topic. So everything has already tailored, i had study the topic (theory), and then at the night shift had assisted the process (practical), so these had help me making a new slide very much easier.
Alhamdulillah.
By 830am, i managed to present the topic alhamdulillah.
